How to describe DRM?

Maybe like that:

Paula Le Dieu, Director off the BBC Creative Archive, described DRM as an envelope with a transparent window that only allowed you to see part of the content, without getting access to it.

And to continue:

Access to the BBC Creative Archive will be based on the Creative Commons model already working in the United States (www.creativecommons.org) which proposes a middle way to rights management, rather than the extremes of the pure public domain or the reservation of all rights.

Well expressed 😉 We can only speculate what BBC\’s adoption of this licence for its Creative Archive might mean for Creative Commons and what sideeffects this undertaking could have regarding Switzerland. Is there in Switzerland anything comparable to BBC? I am not sure, since I am not quite aware of the history of BBC [2]. Maybe BBC is deeper integrated in the Britisch Society than the SSR SRG idée suisse with us [3]. This is something I need to think about later and repost under a different title. 😉
