IBM Millipede – Trillion-Bit Data Storage Density

IBM has developed a storage system basically known as of the punchcard-system but reduced the size of the “carrier” by an immense factor.

The current Millipede potential capacity is about 0.5 gigabytes (billion bytes, GB) in an area of 3 mm-square or at about 25 DVDs on a surface the size of a postage stamp.
