Can Iraq appeal to UN for aid against U.S. attack?

Q. Since the United States attacked Iraq, why can\’t Iraq go to the United Nations and ask for its help?

A. \”That won\’t work,\” said Karen Alter, an assistant professor of political science at Northwestern University. \”It would be like a convicted embezzler coming back and asking for his last paycheck. [1]\”

It is said that about 200 Iraq soldiers capitulated during the first day(s). And about 1300 protesters got arrested in San Francisco [2]. The count will probably grow on both sides.
