Microsoft dives into RFID

Being qurious I did a search on \”RFID\” along the Microsoft webpages [1]. To confess; regarding the potential of that technology, there are not many entries yet (about 8 hits ), but yes, there is some activity in Redmond. Just about two month ago, Microsoft [2]

[..] announced on June 10 that it will join the Auto-ID Center, a joint venture of the Uniform Code Council (UCC) and European Article Number (EAN) International.

Microsoft gives an overview on RFID technology in an own article [3].

Auto-ID Center has been mentioned earlier [4] while talking about the EPC (Electronic Product Code). Auto-ID Center is a unique partnership between almost 100 global companies and five of the world\’s leading research universities.
