Protecting email addresses on websites

Aaron Schwartz [1] evalutated some methods to protect email addresses on websites. In his article he points out benefits and drawbacks of several methods inluding protection by images, javascript etc. He lists some helpful information and links to other resources. Some of these concepts might give you new ideas on how blog spam could be fought or prevented – depends on the point of view.

Just a thought, but we really need to set up a list of trusted sites or friend, to let only those post/trackback/pingback/comment onto your own blog [2]? I just heard – around the corner – today, that upload capabilites in wikis are being misused as temporary mp3 storage containers. Collaborative work is very admirable. But nearly not possible without having trusted circles of collaborating people. I am hopefully wrong. Is this a new chance for FOAF/PGP?
