Plagiarism in the Opensource Community

[via K.-F. Lenz, 1] Richard Stallmann [2] points out an interesting problem in a recent article [3] on behalf of Opensource programmers:

In a community of over half a million developers (for Linux), we can hardly expect that there will never be plagiarism. But it is no disaster; we discard that material and move on. [..] SCO cannot use its copyrights, or its contracts with specific parties, to suppress the lawful contributions of thousands of others.
